Day 149 - 30th Birthday Plans

I was thinking that I didn't really care to have a birthday for my 30th but since it is my 30th I put a little thought into it and decided since I am moving to NJ in a few months I will be so far from one of my most favorite places in the world so I wanted to spend time there reveling in it's beauty and enjoying all that nature has to offer which is why I will be spending it in a cabin in the mountains in the Shenandoah. I can think of no better way to spend my birthday.

Hot Tub Heaven hahaha

Day 84: Real Snow

It was getting old, hearing, "It's gonna snow!" all the time and it either turns out to be nothing maybe even a little rain or a light dusting. THIS time, it was finally different.

Started accumulating at lunch time. SO pretty, finally looks like Winter.

Inches!

It was still snowing here and it didn't stop until the wee hours of the morning so we finally had good snow.

Day 41: Why are we here today?

We follow the government schedule for work so when they close we close but I have no idea why we are here today when the ground is icy and trees have fallen over from heavy ice taking hold of every branch. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, I have a feeling that IF it does, we will be closed and it won't even be that serious. I am counting on it being a light dusting and then we close for nothing when we can use that snow day for another time when we ACTUALLY need it.

Day 4: A Wedding in New Hampshire

New England is beautiful. There aren't many things to do in Derry or Methuen but I love how pretty everything is. It's cold there too and I love it. Today was the wedding of our friends Trenae and Theon. The ceremony was beautiful, it was at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall in Methuen and the Reception was at a Golf Estate in Derry. We had the best table mates you could ask for at the reception.

This is a view from our hotel before leaving for the wedding. Gorgeous.

The Lovely Couple and the grand venue.

The Organ....Yes, that's an ORGAN.

My sister and I with the Bride.
My sis and I with the Groom

And lastly, our most excellent table-mates! I loved these guys.

Day 2: I love Autumn

There is something about Autumn in Virginia that makes me feel at peace. The smell of the crisp air, the changing of the leaves, the milder temperatures, the gentle winds. I just love that I get to experience all four seasons to their fullest capacities here. I know a lost of the Mid Eastern states do but I have a spot reserved in my heart specifically for Fall in Virginia. The property management at my job has done a wonderful job at the placement and selection of flowers, shrubbery and trees on the grounds. We are actually hidden by a beautiful creek and woods so it's quite lovely driving in and out every day. Here are some trees in the parking lot of my office building.

This tree is the most vibrant of them all. It is also my favorite tree for that reason.
I park under these particular trees every day. It serves as a home to about 6 Doves and the green trees in the back hide a Fox's home and to the left of those trees near the creek is the home to a family of deer, 4 of them young males along with their father, an 8 point Buck.

Oh Virginia <3
