Day 67: New Nails and an Old Ring
I was doing my nails when my sister was cleaning the bathroom and she stumbled upon a very old ring of mine from about 10 years ago in a little box that was kept under one of the cabinets. Yes, THE ring. It was a nice surprise.
As far as my nails go, It was my first time doing a style like this in acrylic and my first time doing an acrylic design on top of my nail. Usually I paint a design on. It was also my first time using my LED lamp and a gel top coat. It all ended up really nice however I was disappointed in the bow I did. It tool me so long to perfect my nails that I forgot to use white acrylic for the bow before applying the first coat on my nail so by the time I DID add white acrylic the original layer had already dried and made the rest a glaze color instead of white so it's messy and hard to tell what it is in my opinion but you learn from your mistakes so I know for next time.

Day 66: Hair and Makeup
I've been looking at tutorials for hair and makeup to get a better idea of what I want for the wedding and I haven't quite got it down yet. In the process I have found cute every day styles I can manage for regular days. I did a low pony tail with volume on top and neutral makeup. The lighting is shit so you can't really see the makeup but it looked nice.

Day 64: Fat Princess

Day 60: A Successful Day!
Went for my bridal gown trials today and wasn't expecting to find my dress today in one go at one store in less than 15 minutes but I did. My bridal consultant couldn't have been better I am so pleased with her and this appointment. I was incredibly stressed out about this whole dress thing for months. I figured it'd cost a fortune, they wouldn't have anything I liked, etc etc but the first dress reassured me. In fact I thought the first dress would be THE ONE it was absolutely gorgeous but I decided on something more subtle and more "me". A Dress I fell in love with multiple times unknowingly on the internet, magazines and here by a sheer coincidence on me. I can't post pictures of it here because I don't want to spoil it before my wedding but it's GORGEOUS and it was WAY under budget! I am so happy! My future mother-in-law was there and my cousin, the only person missing was my sister but I really wasn't planning on actually getting a dress today and didn't think it'd be fair to ask her to drive all this way just for shits and giggles. I was going to get serious in VA,MD,DC so now I'm bummed she wasn't there for that initial trial but I can't dwell on it too much, it's done with now. Me, Greg, and my cousin went out for celebratory drinks which was super fun, I love hanging out with Nichole, I don't get to see her much. After she went home we went over to Mark and Sandra's house so we could go out to dinner. I was incredibly tired by then so I felt bad I didn't have much energy left in me but I always love seeing them! Friday, December 27, 2013

Day 55: Mini's First Toy
I was rummaging about in the closet to look for something when I came across a bag full of old dog toys Mini used to play with and I found her very first toy! It's a tiny soft bear I got for her the day I took her home because I didn't want to hurt her baby teeth but I wanted her to have something to play with. It didn't take her long to rip out the eyes lol. I can't believe I still have this!

Day 53: Christmas Events at The National Harbor
Greg and Marley are here for Christmas celebrations since we can't be together for Christmas so we planned to go to the National Harbor to find Christmas-y things to do. They always have a village set up inside the Gaylord Hotel and it snows inside I think every hour on the hour. I took him to experience that and then we attended an ugly sweater contest at Harrington's and we got 2nd place for most extravagant but there weren't many entrants soooooo doesn't say too much. It was a really nice place though, great food.
Our sweaters say, "World's Best Mom" and "World's Best Dad" with our dog's faces on them lol
