Day 2: I love Autumn

There is something about Autumn in Virginia that makes me feel at peace. The smell of the crisp air, the changing of the leaves, the milder temperatures, the gentle winds. I just love that I get to experience all four seasons to their fullest capacities here. I know a lost of the Mid Eastern states do but I have a spot reserved in my heart specifically for Fall in Virginia. The property management at my job has done a wonderful job at the placement and selection of flowers, shrubbery and trees on the grounds. We are actually hidden by a beautiful creek and woods so it's quite lovely driving in and out every day. Here are some trees in the parking lot of my office building.

This tree is the most vibrant of them all. It is also my favorite tree for that reason.
I park under these particular trees every day. It serves as a home to about 6 Doves and the green trees in the back hide a Fox's home and to the left of those trees near the creek is the home to a family of deer, 4 of them young males along with their father, an 8 point Buck.

Day 1: A Nice surprise

Went to my second job at the restaurant on and was surprised with a gift from one of my coworkers, Mel. About a month ago I was working with her and she asked what the tattoo was on my arm (it was half covered) and when I showed her it was an owl she asked me about why I got it so I told her how much I loved owls and how I break down if I see one in person and she thought it was the cutest thing. I haven't worked with her since then and so tonight when I came in she told me she had something for me in the car which confused me because I wasn't sure what she could have meant but she came back in with a bronze owl statue and I lost my shit. It made my night. The gesture was incredibly nice and for her to remember how much I love owls and to get me this was just incredibly sweet.

A Day In My Life - Boston Road Trip

This was a road trip to Boston my sister, my cousin and I decided to take for my cousin's birthday and to meet up with our friends in Massachusetts on Memorial Day weekend (BIG MISTAKE). Instead of taking about 8 hours like it should have, it took closer to 12 or 13 if not longer, this was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly but I know it was a minimum of 12 hours. Long story short, Labor Day is now my, NO ROAD TRIP NO MATTER WHAT day and I am okay with that. Keep in mind that this was about 4 years ago so I was around 25, I am 29 now. I was so young, so full of life....[dramatic gesture] The picture displayed here shows how our trip there went as we lost some of our sanity. I tell ya, I really needed that rum. There are about 70 photos after the jump to show you how the day started, how it ended, and everything in-between.Click "Read More" to see the full day.
