Day 62: New Year's Eve with Mini and The Doctor

Yes, that's right. I spent New Year's Eve at home watching Doctor Who all night with Mini. It was perfect.

Day 61: Cute Dogs

Day 60: A Successful Day!

Went for my bridal gown trials today and wasn't expecting to find my dress today in one go at one store in less than 15 minutes but I did. My bridal consultant couldn't have been better I am so pleased with her and this appointment. I was incredibly stressed out about this whole dress thing for months. I figured it'd cost a fortune, they wouldn't have anything I liked, etc etc but the first dress reassured me. In fact I thought the first dress would be THE ONE it was absolutely gorgeous but I decided on something more subtle and more "me". A Dress I fell in love with multiple times unknowingly on the internet, magazines and here by a sheer coincidence on me. I can't post pictures of it here because I don't want to spoil it before my wedding but it's GORGEOUS and it was WAY under budget! I am so happy! My future mother-in-law was there and my cousin, the only person missing was my sister but I really wasn't planning on actually getting a dress today and didn't think it'd be fair to ask her to drive all this way just for shits and giggles. I was going to get serious in VA,MD,DC so now I'm bummed she wasn't there for that initial trial but I can't dwell on it too much, it's done with now. Me, Greg, and my cousin went out for celebratory drinks which was super fun, I love hanging out with Nichole, I don't get to see her much. After she went home we went over to Mark and Sandra's house so we could go out to dinner. I was incredibly tired by then so I felt bad I didn't have much energy left in me but I always love seeing them!

Day 59: Going to NJ

Heading to New Jersey this weekend. I have my very first bridal gown appointment in Secaucus at East West Bridals on Saturday. The drive wasn't too bad up.

Spent Christmas at Aaron's. Food was AMAZING as usual and I got spoiled with gifts, as did Tabby.

Day 55: Mini's First Toy

I was rummaging about in the closet to look for something when I came across a bag full of old dog toys Mini used to play with and I found her very first toy! It's a tiny soft bear I got for her the day I took her home because I didn't want to hurt her baby teeth but I wanted her to have something to play with. It didn't take her long to rip out the eyes lol. I can't believe I still have this!

Day 53: Christmas Events at The National Harbor

Greg and Marley are here for Christmas celebrations since we can't be together for Christmas so we planned to go to the National Harbor to find Christmas-y things to do. They always have a village set up inside the Gaylord Hotel and it snows inside I think every hour on the hour. I took him to experience that and then we attended an ugly sweater contest at Harrington's and we got 2nd place for most extravagant but there weren't many entrants soooooo doesn't say too much. It was a really nice place though, great food.

 Our sweaters say, "World's Best Mom" and "World's Best Dad" with our dog's faces on them lol

Day 52: Sandwich Republic

My lunch was probably better than yours. LOL jk, but maybe I'm not. Sandwich Republic YUM.

Day 51: Card Stock and Chocolates

Went to Michael's to check out some card stock for our Save the Date cards.

When i got back to work, Pam was there with a gift for me :3 I love her. She's one of our vendors and she spoils me rotten, same woman who got me the mac lipstick. 

Yum.

Day 50: Kindness at work strikes again!

NO I'm not talking about my full time job, of course not that would be preposterous! I'm talking about at the restaurant I work at once a week. We have regular customers and they seem to look out for the staff in many ways. This one in particular always leaves generous tips for whoever waits on him and every Christmas he gives every single person who works there including the kitchen staff (dish washers, cooks, prep, etc) a card with a random amount of money in it. Last year I remember since it was my first year and no one told me he does that, I came in to work and he got up from his table and handed me the card and I was having a rough week at that time and just him handing me the envelope made my night. I was holding back tears just from the kindness that he made out a card to me (which I hadn't even opened at that point) it was literally just the thought he put into giving me a card that hit me pretty hard so when I opened it and saw there was a good deal of money in there I went into a state of shock. He did it again this year but I must say I just enjoy the cards and the fact that he writes a little message in there even though he could just sign his name, he chooses to write. I love that.

Day 49: Fresh World

I go to Fresh World outside of my office for spicy noodles every so often and I just noticed the last time I went that they have a little package of some of my favorite banchan items so I got that for lunch today and while I was there getting that I saw that they serve bulgogi with rice, kimchi, and seaweed salad. I know what I'm getting NEXT time I'm there :D

Day 48: Our Holiday Party at Work

I am not a fan of our holiday work parties and it's because I don't like socializing with coworkers. I don't even like a bunch of people who work here so being forced to circle jerk each other for 2 hours is mind numbing. I was really hungry though and forced myself to go up and grab food and run back down to my desk. The line for the meat side was so ridiculously long I didn't feel like waiting so I got into the very short vegetarian line and I'm glad I did because the food there was GREAT. I love that the vegetarians at my job always home make their food and it's always so good so this is what I got and it was delicious. I don't nee meat when there are fresh veggies cooked with TLC in front of me. I am not a vegetarian but I love veggies so I appreciate them when they are available to me in a form other than plainly cooked.

Day 47: Hungover and playing The Sims Freeplay

So I like the Sims, don't judge me! I love that it's Christmas time even in the game so I decorated some houses and SANTA came to visit.

Day 46: Annual Christmas Dinner

We had a great turn out as always. It gets a little worrisome when there is bad weather or when people bail at the last second but other people always show up to make up for the missing people and we always have a big crowd and lots of fun. This year was no different except that instead of going out for the dinner this year we had it at my sister's bf's house and made it a potluck. There was so much good food it was ridiculous. Everyone contributed something even if it was just help in the kitchen which was really appreciated.

Day 45: Christmas Prepping

Every year we have a Christmas Dinner with friends to celebrate the year and to give us all an excuse to hang out and see our friends, especially the ones we don't see often enough. Greg got in to town early and we went grocery shopping then helped tabby with her goodies for the shin dig.

In the process of it all, of course we get out some drinks and carried on until midnight or so then hit the hay.

Day 44: Mini's first toy

I was looking for something in the closet and found a bag with 5 very old dog toys in it. One of which was her very first stuffed toy! I couldn't believe we still had it!

Day 43: IPA's

Bringing IPA's to the restaurant now.

Day 42: I called it

LOL what did I say? Okay so you prob can't read that but it says the Fed Gov is closed. I THOUGHT SO. It IS snowing though just not bad enough for a closure.

Day 41: Why are we here today?

We follow the government schedule for work so when they close we close but I have no idea why we are here today when the ground is icy and trees have fallen over from heavy ice taking hold of every branch. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, I have a feeling that IF it does, we will be closed and it won't even be that serious. I am counting on it being a light dusting and then we close for nothing when we can use that snow day for another time when we ACTUALLY need it.

Day 40: It's SNOWING!

I was worried seeing this snow because I finally got to make plans with this girl I have been friends with from online for ages (I know her bf but she and I became friends on FB and we started texting etc) It's been a year of us being so busy we never had time to hang out so we finally discussed meeting up last night for today but only if the weather wasn't that bad. I thought for sure things were once again not going to work because the weather was iffy but she surprisingly said she didn't care, she had enough waiting around and this was going to happen so we finally met each other in person. She is awesome. I always knew she was but I didn't realize how similar we were to one another, it's incredibly strange to talk to someone where everything you do they do and what you believe they believe and what you want they want and we have the same sense of humor and awkwardness about certain things and we are both blunt. We were cut from the same cloth. We went to Tyson's Corner and had a drink and some appetizers at Coastal Flats and when she said her drink did nothing for her after our 2 hour blab session I asked if her goals was to feel a buzz and she said yeah so I said Lets go to the bar then and so off we went. We went to T.G.I Fridays since they have some pretty sweet cocktails plus it was happy hour and we hung out up there for a couple more hours which was EVENTFUL to say the least. There were lots of laughs and awkward drunk man being weird moments and then one of her bf's friends walked in and we ended up hanging out with him and then went to a Hookah place after that with 2 of his friends which lead to me being out later than i should have been out but realistically I go to bed at 2 or 3am when I am home anyway and I was having fun so why not stay out now? It was a lot of fun.
